Early Explorer Learning Kit for 6–12 Months Babies (Level 3)

The NESTA TOYS Early Explorer Learning Kit – Level 3 is designed for babies 6–12 months, a stage when they become increasingly active, curious and interested in exploring objects around them. The kit combines wooden rattles, building blocks, a rolling dinosaur car, colourful visual activity cards and a knob puzzle to encourage grasping, movement, sensory exploration, coordination and early problem-solving through hands-on, screen-free play.

What's Inside This Early Explorer Learning Kit?

Each component introduces a different way for growing babies to interact with objects and explore their surroundings.

• Rainbow Wooden Egg Shaker – Set of 2: Gives babies opportunities to hold, shake and explore sound through movement.
• Wooden Building Blocks Toy Set: Introduces babies to holding, moving and exploring different wooden shapes as they begin experimenting with objects.
• Wooden Dinosaur Car: A rolling toy that can encourage babies to watch movement, reach towards the car and interact with it during supervised floor play.
• 20 Colourful Visual Stimulation Activity Cards: Provides colourful images for visual exploration, recognition and parent-baby interaction.
• Montessori Wooden Shapes Knob Puzzle: Introduces simple shape exploration and manipulation through grasping the wooden knobs and handling the pieces.

What Can Babies Explore With This Kit?

At 6–12 months, babies are becoming more active participants in play. These activities give them opportunities to explore objects through movement, touch, sight and sound.

• Reach, grasp and transfer: Offer the wooden toys during supervised play and allow your baby to practise picking them up, holding them and moving them between their hands.
• Shake and listen: Let your baby discover that moving the egg shakers creates sound.
• Watch and chase movement: Gently roll the dinosaur car nearby and allow your baby to watch, reach towards it or move towards it as they become more mobile.
• Explore shapes: Let your baby hold the knob puzzle pieces and investigate their shapes and knobs before gradually introducing the idea of matching them to the openings.
• Build and explore: Give your baby individual blocks to hold, move and examine as they become familiar with different shapes and objects.
• Look and interact: Use the colourful activity cards for simple parent-baby conversations, pointing, naming objects and visual exploration.

Why This Kit Is Different From the Earlier Levels

Level 3 represents the transition from primarily sensory exploration toward more active, hands-on discovery.

Level 1 – 0–3 months:
Look → Track → Touch → Begin to Reach

Level 2 – 3–6 months:
Reach → Grasp → Hold → Shake → Track → Explore

Level 3 – 6–12 months:
Grasp → Move → Manipulate → Discover → Solve → Explore

As babies become more mobile and their hand control develops, the activities can involve more purposeful interaction with objects. The Level 3 kit therefore adds building blocks, a rolling toy and a beginner shape puzzle alongside sensory and visual activities.
